BioBorn to me the world was new, to learn-to be a sponge,
Transplanted Californian, now in home of grunge,
Did my time for Uncle Sam, 'though war I knew was cold,
Hand was cut in two, 'twas useless I was told,
Marked by One-Who-Loved-Me, hurt opened the door,
Sugar offered work, my kids would eat-though poor,
Did I make a difference?, Have I made Him proud?,
On mercy will I hope, one soul in teeming crowd,
Need I not to know, to see as I am seen, He has been my Harbor, my forest Evergreen.
